ASA, OFCOM and banned adverts. Task 4

Task 4

The ASA is the company that watches over the adverts in the UK... If the adverts dont meet the standards of there regulations they can ban that advert. ASA protects us from multiple promblems with Adverts like the too violent ones, too sexual or the misleading ones from the public. Also with OFCOM they represent the ideas of the public and they have the ability to fine and restrict compacts if the public seem to have a problem and protecting them from things that can harm the public, for example they can help the ASA to ban adverts for the interest of the public.

Banned Adverts.
There have been many banned adverts over the years for things like they where misleading, too sexual, too violent, offending an certain type of people or religion and finally it even could be to frightening or distressing for the public. The reason these are ban so it doesn't offend the public and mentally scar children or the elderly.

The reason this advert is banned because of multiple problems and offending things it presents. The first it does is offend a certain type of people, The chavs as they refer to them in this advert the reason the public may not like it is because it may seem like them and in the advert he says offensive sentences like 'No down you go my orange friend'. The second thing is that it seem quite violent and distressing because he has a gun which is full of tranquillisers but when they shoot someone it seems like they have been killed how they full over as well at the beginning of the video you see two pictures, one of some people having a fight and the other of some some very drunk girls sitting in there trash. The last thing is they refer there ad 'for the civilised people and the irish' which may offend the public as well.
