Assignment 4 Task 5

The Final Product
I am writing in this post I will be evaluating my advert that I made. What happened in my is that We had the main person wearing headphones while all the other actors where there annoying the main person with beats around his neck but once he enough of everything annoying him with all there annoying sounds and he puts on his headphones which blocks out all the annoying sounds.

Audience feedback
With audience feedback I ask certain questions which are related to my advert, the questions I asked where like;
Did you understand the advert?
Did you enjoy the advert?
Would you buy the product I am promoting?
Could you rate this advert 10 being the best 1 being the worst?
With the questions most of them are qualitative answers but one is only quantative, with qualitative it goes into more detail then quantative.

What people thought of our advert
With our advert people seemed to enjoyed watching our advert and when I asked the question "did you enjoy the advert?" every person that I asked said they enjoyed our advert saying that it was good. Most of the people we questioned said they liked our advert and most things that featured in it. There wasn't anything that they dislike but one person just they said the didn't like the ending other my advert when the actor jumped in the air at the end of the road after he put the beats on. Everyone we questioned gave us simple answers and none of them really gave us surprising answers. But   I think most of the question that i asked my focus is where good questions and all the answers provided to be useful.

My opinion
In my opinion I think everything in my advert was rather successful and that it was a generally good advert but the only thing I shouldn't of had in the advert was at the end when the actor skipped for a bit then jumped in the air. I didn't really think anything else in my advert was a problem and that I didn't like.

The product
With my advert it properly showed of the product and how good I am at making an advert. In my advert everything technical in my advert was fine and all up to scratch, the camera didn't shake, it all had smooth movements and it was all good framing. In my advert it clearly shows off the product in it because it is in it most of the advert. The advert successfully sells the product by showing what it does is good because what happens in the advert. But overall I believe my advert overall waas a generally good advert and I have of other people agreeing with me about it.

Survey monkey

Assignment 4 task 3

  1. For this post I will be talking about the results that I have got Survey monkey and my focus group, I both have a reasonable amount of information feedback from my focus group and my survey monkey that I done.

I have collected all the information from them and got pictures of them.

The questions that I asked was and the general answer that I got.

  1. What is the point of this advert?-  Everyone who done the focus answered this question all the same saying that it was just to promote Beats by Dre. They where right because that is the whole point of the advert to promotes it.
  2. Who do you think is the target audience?- The general answer that I got was that my advert was mainly for young people but then someone else answered saying that it was targeted for young people, both are correct and are shown in the advert that I made.
  3. Do you think the use of the dog, construction work and the girl speaking on the phone was a good idea?- With this question, the answers I got didnt vary that much because they mainly said yes and that I done a good job showing that they where all annoying to the actor before he put his Beats headphones on. But someone said on there answer that I should of added another thing that would of annoyed the actor before like a bus or a train, I should of done this to add more effect to the advert ore maybe a very loud car.
  4. Is there any point in the advert that you feel should be changed?- For this question I got a vary of different answers. Someone said they wanted more annoying sounds, one person said my advert was fine and that it didn't need anymore. The other two people said that they would prefer if the music was longer and if they had rubbish headphones and then changed to beats or saw someone else with the beats not having to listen to them.
  5. If you said yes to four why?- 1 person who didn't answer yes to number left this 5 blank and another person didn't explain at all why he said yes, so only two people answered this question properly. One person who talked about the rubbish headphones, that person said it would shown off how good the beats headphones compare to other headphones. The final person said about the more annoying sounds would of been better to make a better build up to put the headphones on.
  6. Did you find my advert enjoyable to watch?- Everyone that did the focus did answer saying that they found this advert very enjoyable and funny to watch.
  7. Can you please rate this advert in between 10 being highest and 1 being the lowest?- The answers that I got was 8,8,7 and 7.
After my focus group I made my survey monkey questionnaire so that other people can answer it as well. I have got answers from my survey monkey and that I have took pictures of the answers.

For my survey monkey I have got back from my survey I have got have literally all been positive, I haven't got one bad piece of feedback at all.

Assignment 4 Task 2

For this post I shall writing about what I need to do is plan a focus group and a survey monkey, the reason I need is for qualitative and quantitate information.
The methods that i have used to collect my feedback is by using a focus group and by creating a survey on Survey Monkey. I have chose these two because they are the easier ways of getting feedback and it is also the best way of getting feedback

Question for the Focus group.

  1. What is the point of this advert?
  2. Who do you think is the target audience?
  3. Do you think the use of the dog, construction work and the girl speaking on the phone was a good idea?
  4. Is there any point in the advert that you feel should be changed?
  5. Can you please rate this advert in between 10 being highest and 1 being the lowest?
  6. Did you enjoy watching this advert?

The reason I am doing a focus group is because I need qualitative information because I need to use it all in my evaluation and sort out all it. Also another thing I had to do to get information for my research

 and that was survey monkey.

For survey monkey I have to make a survey and post it up on my blog so that people can go on my blog and do complete it so I can get the results I need for it, with all this information from both of Survey Monkey and the focus group I done needs to be collected so that I can analyse it.

Assignment 4 Task 1

This post shall be on about how useful I found the pre-production plans for my advert. Generally I did find the pre-production plans quite useful for the help of my advert.  When it came to the advert I did use the pre-production plans but i didn't use them that much on the way of helping me.

Risk Assessment – I used my risk assessment to make sure that we was always away from any types of dangers such as moving cars or construction machines. I used it this way because it had all the dangers that we come up against when we were filming in a public area. This document was useful because it helped us make sure that we were out of the way of moving cars and that we didn't film to close to the construction works. I would improve my document by saying what other risks there are when I am going out filming. The document was a very useful document because I knew what the main risks were and because of this the rate of any risk had reduced.

Proposal – I only used my proposal for finding the right location and planning what we were going to film and how we was going to do it. I used it this way because my advert had to be based on my proposal so I tried basing my advert as much on my proposal as possible so it will achieve the idea that I proposed. My proposal was useful because I was able to make my advert the way I wanted it to because I could base it around my proposal which is ho w I wanted to do everything. I would improve my document by writing in more scenes for is to film so more was happening in the advert. This was one of the main useful documents because I was able to film my whole advert because it was all wrote down and I was able to follow the whole thing easily.
Production Schedule – I only used my production schedule to make sure that I was in the right type of area and to make sure that I have all the equipment that I am going to need when I was filming. I used it this way because it was listing what problems I could come across with when I was filming such as the weather forecast being said to rain so I wouldn't be able to film because the equipment would get damaged. My document was useful because I knew where to find the right location where there is construction going on and that I could film in the street. I could improve it my adding more detail and putting in different locations if I wasn't able to film in my initial location. This document wasn't one of the main useful documents because it only said a location I could film and what I should do if a problem arises.
Production Budget - I didn't really use this pre-production document in the making of my advert because it had no relevance to the filming. It was useful for knowing how much that we was going to need to spend to try and pay for all the relevant things such as costumes and camera hire. I would improve my document more by adding more detail and saying what kind of costumes they were just encase anything happened to the costume. Overall this document wasn't really useful because i didn't really need to keep referring to it like i did with other documents.
Details - I used the details pre-production document to make sure that all the information was there for if anything went wrong so people could contact me, i made sure that all of the information on there was up to date which means that it had all the right numbers and it said who was the client and what the advert was about. The document wasn't useful for me because i already knew all of the information which was on the sheet, but it was important for the people that was helping me film just encase anything happened they could contact me. I would improve it by adding other number of people i was working with so i could contact them encase anything happened that i couldn't deal with on my own. It wasn't one of the most important documents because all of the information on the document was all my information so i already knew it.
Call sheet - I used the call sheet to say where we was all meeting and say what time we're meeting there and what we're going to do there. This document was useful because it said all the information that everyone needed to know so that the filming went along fine and so that all of the places that we may be filming at. I would improve it next time by adding more details such as the actual addresses instead of describing where the place is. The document was useful for when we first started filming but after that it wasn't really needed because everyone knew what they was going to be doing.
Contingency plan - I used my contingency plan to make sure that i wasn't doing anything wrong in my filming and that i wasn't breaking any of the rules that were set in place. My document was useful because then i knew what i was going to be doing and what i am allowed to be doing because there was a few things of what I wasn't allowed to do because I didn't want to break any rules and have to re-film. I would improve my document by saying more of what I was going to be doing and how i was going to be doing it without breaking the rules. This document was very useful because i was able to film without having to re-film any shots because I knew what I was and wasn't allowed to do.

Post-production Task 3

When I finished recording my advert I then had to come back the computer so that I can go on the computer so that I can edit all my shots together so that I can finally finish my advert altogether. Because my camera didn't use tapes I had to use my own SIM to store the shoots that I recorded on to the computer. It wasn’t that hard uploading all the recording footage because all I had to do is that I had copy it from the SIM card onto the computer, into a file and once that was all done I opened final cut express and I imported all the clips and shots on to it.

Once all clips and videos where uploaded onto to final cut express I then renamed some of the more important shots so that it could save me time when I trying to find them and to remind me that they where important to making of the advert. Also I made two bins, one for sound that I used in the advert and other was for text titles that I used in as well. The reason I made all these was so that I could keep it all organized and easy to find when I was editing my advert.

When I was making my entire advert I had to use multiple tools to help me make my whole advert, for example the Razor tool the most and it was the most important tool because it helped me cut my clips and shots so that they connected and that they look good and match each other. Another tool that I used was the pen tool, it was very useful to use because it helped me make things like sounds quieter or louder as well as making shots fade into each other.

I used different audio recordings for my advert because I did need to use a wide variety of them. I used one obviously for the music of the advert at the end of my clip also used a dog barking sound for when my dog run across the road and jumps onto Jordan, I used it so then people actually thought she was barking at Jordan. Also another audio that I used was a sound of multiple construction works. I did have a shot of construction work going on but it wasn't really that loud so I had to go on the internet to get some sounds for it so that it actually seemed like it was loud enough to put on the beats. But for Lauren's bit in the advert was loud enough and didn't need no different audio from off the internet so it was good enough.

I sadly did not use any Live type text on my advert because I believed that I didn't have to use it.

For Importing, I only imported a couple files which where music and audio also i imported one picture of Beats for the end of my advert. I first had to download my audio from the internet onto my desktop then i had go import it onto final cut express, thats what I exactly done for the one picture as well.

Once I completely finished my advert I had to export my advert onto my desktop so then I can post it onto my youtube. When I started to export I had to do it in all HD because my camera is in HD. I all basically had to put it in High quality so that my video looked the best it could be.

Once I had my advert had been export on to my desktop I then had to go sig onto my youtube channel and then upload it. Once it was uploaded it was done.

Production Task 2

At the start we had to plan and prepare to make our advert  so what we done is the pre-production planing and making my story board.

With making the advert, what I had to do is that I went out to record my advert. I first signed out my equipment for the recording. I didn't have to sign out a camera because I had my own camera which I just took from my house but I made sure that it was full battery for the recording and that I had to make sure that my camera's SIM card had enough memory in it, both things where all okay. What I signed out was a tripod and a mic.

Once I had all the equipment ready I rung up my friends/actors and we all met up to go start to recording, once we all met up I also got my dog to help us recording my advert because she was just as important as one of my friends. But anyway as soon as we where ready, we left for the location for our recording. When we left to go to our location we had to make sure the that it was nice and sunny so that we had the right lighting for my advert so that it looks good when we are recording.

When we got to to our location that we to planned to record at and we started to set up our equipment. When the equipment was all the prepared we had to make sure it was all working so we record some practice shot to make sure it was all working. Everything seemed so alright so everyone started to get in position, we finally started to record for our advert.
At first every found it difficult what to do, especially Jack who was working with my dog. My dog was hard to control for him but then they both got in the end. So did Lauren and Jordan as well. Once everyone got all there parts correct and right, we took multiple shots so that when I put them all together so that it all looks good when I finish off the rest of my advert in final cut express.

When we was recording I had to make sure that my friends/actors where safe so I had consider health safety especially that we was near a road when was recording. We stayed safe that none was in danger of the road so we stopped recording when a car came.

Task 1 Pre production plan

The pre-production plan is what we do before we start our production of making the advert for the brussels.
What we done for all these for all the pre-production is that I got 9 files that I used to plan with.

Proposal:

Proposal
Prepared by
Daniel Merritt

The proposal for my advert is that for my advert we shall be advertising Dre. Beats and just how go they are. What we are proposing to do in the advert is that the actor is walking down the road as he walking he conflicted by all these loud noises. What the noises are construction work, a dog proceeding to bark and a girl speaking very loudly on her phone to someone else. As the main the actor walks down the road he shows his irritation by all these loud noises so finally he decides to put on his Beats and listen to his music. he is very pleased by this and continues off and skips away while we are all listening to the music.

The location is on a side street near some houses. It connects up to a main road that has shops on it.

Access to location via:
Walking, it is rather close by to everyone needed.

Name and number of location contact:

Health and Safety Issues to note:

The major health and safety problem is that we are nearby a road so that is a major health and safety issue if we do not act responsible around the road.
Potential Filming Problems :

A filming problem is that we can't get people walking into our advert while we are recording. This is because it isn't planned for our advert and they may not want
  • Also if one of our actors is ill, I would have to have a spare actor on standby to replace so that we aren't missing anyone in our advert.

Additional Notes:  (map of area/weather forecast etc)

Contingency Plan

Production:

Potential problems and how to overcome these problems:
Is that if a actor turns out ill or ends having different plans while we have already recorded half of our advert this may be a problem because we would have to re-record our whole advert again because that one main actor has been replace by another one and that might mean the new actor might sound or look completely different.

Major Issues:

  • The Major issues are that if that someone is ill then I wont have someone to play the roll for that time.
  • Another risk is that we are recording close to road so we must be careful at all times so that no is hurt or injured by a car.
  • Also because we are recording near a road there are also cars parked on the side of the road, so that we must be careful around other peoples cars and make sure not to damage them at all.
